I'm usually there

My First Party.
February 17, 2023 Maybe forever. Literally the first words I used when wondering how long i’d be living in Denver after this party.
Not gonna lie, I had a hard time my first couple months in Denver. I struggle mightily with anxiety and my first move is always to remain secluded. Fresh from Phoenix I thought I made a huge fucking mistake moving. No friends, no direction, just vibes.
I had to be resourceful. I found a flyer.
And just like that, my first Maybeforever/Denver party.
The lineup was STACKED. Nadus, DJ Sliink, Bianca Oblivion and my sister NAASHA (who I didn’t even know at the time was also living in Denver. My sister, and I had no idea).
This show was a no brainer. I’d been a huge fan of the Jersey Club stuff for a long time. In fact the first time I heard it was Sliink’s body high debut. I met Sliink a couple times before this, but most notably through my friend Marlon who played as Astronomar at a show with Sliink in Phoenix. And of course, seeing Nadus made the deal sweeter. I was a huge pelican fly fan and loved Nadus. That Broke City EP still gets rotation to this very day.
But looking back, the wildest part of that night wasn’t even the music.
It was the people.
The crazy thing about this party was there were people there that would be come good friends in due time. Not in that moment but in the future we would all cross paths again.
That’s the thing.
Red string theory feels real when I think about it.
That night I took pictures not knowing I was in presence of Denver legends. Darien (with some of his Dem Deya Kit), Kiddo, Keller (Dystopik) and his killer visual setup. I’m sure YOU were there too and I just didn’t realize.
We were all meant to be friends.
Maybe, forever.
More soon XX
